We've expanded....again!

We’re pleased to announce the opening of our fourth office location in Kitchener, Ontario. The new location will allow multiVIEW to quickly deploy to deliver private and public utility locating services across the city and surrounding area, bridging the gap between our Mississauga and London offices. Kitchener-based Field Technicians will be fully equipped to locate assets in both the public Right of Way (ROW) and on private property, conduct sewer video inspections and carry out concrete scanning. The new office location will also support growing activity in surrounding areas including The Municipality of Haldimand and Norfolk County.

Happy Dig Safe Month!

The Ontario Regional Common Ground Alliance (ORCGA) has designated April as the official Dig Safe month in Ontario. This month is dedicated to promoting education and awareness around safe digging practices across the province in order to reduce damages to underground infrastructure. Keep an eye out for Dig Safe campaigns and events that will focus on spreading the “Call or Click Before You Dig” message.

In honour of Dig Safe Month, we’ve made some handy tips available to help you ensure safe excavation and compliance with the ON1Call process.
Safe & Smart Concrete Scanning
Today, most project owners are aware that scanning concrete is a vital first step to ensuring safety on any sized project where cutting, coring or drilling are involved.   However, the traditional method of X-Ray scanning poses its own set of risks and challenges, and the method is largely being replaced by Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). In addition to providing a safer way to scan, GPR technology also brings many other advantages to the project site. In the latest issue of Heavy Equipment User Guide, Kevin Vine, President of multiVIEW discusses how GPR is being applied to a range of activities from imaging bridge decks to safely scanning concrete in public spaces.

The Dangers Hidden Below
The inadvertent intersection of underground utilities is known as a cross bore. Cross bores can remain harmless and undetected for years, causing little to no disruption. However, potential dangers arise when a sewer backs up and needs to be unblocked. On rare occasions, a natural gas line has been punctured, causing gas to leak through sewer laterals. Some cases have resulted in millions of dollars in property damage, serious injury, and even death. In the latest issue of Trenchless Technology Magazine, Kevin Vine, President of multiVIEW discusses the importance of implementing a cross bore safety program and the key components required to ensure program success.
