Field Supervisor - Mississauga, ON

Role Description
 
Reporting to the Field Manager, the Field Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of field staff, training, quality control, time management and attendance, and compliance with all safety and operating procedures. Field Supervisors assist the Field Manager in the performance management process. Along with the items below, Field Supervisors are fully competent in all responsibilities and qualifications of the Utility Locator positions and may be required to perform utility locate services during peak demand and coverage periods.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Day-to-day supervision of field staff, including quality, safety, training and audit management.
  • Oversee work site and field staff safety, ensuring adherence to all policies, procedures, regulations and quality standards, and completing Health, Safety and Quality Inspections.
  • Responsible for sewer camera crews, hydro excavation crews and utility locators in an assigned region.
  • Will perform regular utility locate services to support workload demand and infield retraining activities with Utility Locators.
  • Assist in the evaluation of prospective and existing field staff.
  • Will complete service inspections in coordination with the Field Manager.
  • Subject matter expert, coaching and mentoring field staff, delivering training for field staff and clients when required.
  • Act as on-site point of contact when required.
  • Ensure suitability and readiness of equipment and vehicles.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • ORCGA Certification in Damage Prevention, Utility Locating, preferred.
  • 3-5 years utility locating experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years sewer camera or hydro excavation experience preferred.
  • Self-organizing and able to multi-task.
  • Experience dealing directly with customers.
  • Strong communication and team skills.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Clean driving license.
  • Able to work on job sites outside for long periods.
